Head trauma/ concussions

The brain is enveloped by a tough sac like the dura mater (tough mother). It supports, protects and reduces shock to the brain. When there has been head trauma, restrictions can form in the sac that add tensions to the brain and down the spinal cord. The body will compensate for the tensions that can also twist and malign the skull bones.

This can lead to neck pain, jaw pain, headaches and a twisted pelvis. When the restricted dura is the starting point of a kinetic chain that throws off the body’s alignment, the solution is to perform gentle craniosacral therapy that helps unwind and release the restricted dura. Clients find this technique positively relaxing and can give immediate relief. There is a way to release the dura that is gentle, respectful and specific. This is done by an experienced and sensitive therapist.
