Tall person syndrome

Tall person syndrome

This is a term I coined after working with a number of very tall people. I realized that they were all tall and complaining of a myriad of very different symptoms (back pain, to headaches, hamstring tightness, to tingling) but that the cause stemmed from the bones having grown so rapidly and the soft tissues including the spinal cord and nerves being restricted. I am not sure why the soft tissues never caught up or maybe tall people find themselves always compensating for being tall. They hunch over so that they can be at the same level as others, they have to try to fit into tight chairs, seats, beds, doorways.

Treatment

The tall person gets a lot of relief when their nervous system is released and lengthened, when nerves are allowed to glide and reach their fully stretched position. Soft tissues are helped to keep up with the bone growth (even if the person is a fully grown adult) These techniques are not difficult and can be taught over virtual or telehealth consultation. The important thing is to recognize that relief is possible and the solution is closer than you think.
