You do not need a doctor referral to access Physiotherapy (except for ICBC)
Clients are able to access physiotherapy directly if they are paying privately. Insurance companies such as Sunlife, Manulife, and Blue Cross also do not require a doctor’s referral for their customers to seek physiotherapy treatments.
In cases involving motor vehicle accidents, a doctor’s note is required in order for ICBC to reimburse the physiotherapy clinic.
